LOOHEB AND DISTRICT.
LOCHEE lies in close proximity to, and is included in the parliamentary
burgh of Dundee, with which it is connected by a line of Tramway and
by Railway, having a station on the Dundee and Newtyle branch of the Cale-
donian system. It has rapidly risen from a mere village to a place of
importance, having large textile manufactories, public schools, and a goodly
number of churches. The population of the town at the last census was
12,370.

Letters from all parts arrive (from Dundee) at 6.20 and 10.20 a.m. and 1.10
and 6.30 p.m.. and are despatched thereto at 8.25 a.m., 1.5, 2.5, 4.55, and
