LETHAM,
With the Parish and Village of DUNNICHEN.
LETHAM, a modern village, lying five miles south-east of Forfar, its post
town, was planned and laid out in feus by George Dempster, Esq., of
Dunnichen, who was born at Dundee in 1732, and who died in the year 1818.
It has now a population numbering between- 800 and 900.
Post and Money Order Office, Letham. — John D. Stewart, Post-
master. — Letters from all parts arrive (from Forfar) at 12.35 p.m., and are
despatched thereto at 5.45 a.m.
Wall Box at Dunnichen. — Letters from all parts arrive (from Forfar) at
twenty minutes past eleven in the morning, and are despatched thereto at
thirty minutes past six in the morning. The nearest Money Order Office is
at Letham,
Letters for the above places should be addressed "near 1 orfar.
