YTHAN WELLS is a quoad sacra
parish, formed out of the parishes of Forgue
and Auchterless, and is in the Huntly smaU
debt court district, 8 miles east of Huntly,
8 north of Insch, 9 west of Fyvie and 11
south-west of Turriff railway stations, all
on the Great North of Scotland railway.
The parish church is a plain building of
stone, with sittings for 350 persons. The
principal landowners are George Anderson
esq. J.P. and Miss Lillias Thain, of
Auchaber. Tbe population in 1901 was
1,005.
