Annual Average for the last seven years, being 1,055 policit
:s for £500,475.
THE ASSOCIATION'S POLICIES are free from several restrictions commonly imposed
on Assured Lives, and confer unusual and important facilities and privileges, protecting the holders
against forfeiture, &c. They are, thus, more than usually valuable, and form nearly Absolute and Indefea-
sible Securities for Provisions under Marriage Settlements, Debts, &c.
AN ALLOCATION OF PROFIT is made every year to Participating Policyholders of fife
years' standing at the date of the preceding Balance, and their share of profit is applied in reducing their
next Premiums. Each Policy Holder thu9 enjoys during Ms own life his share of the Profit, and the
expense of Life Insurance is very materially reduced. For example, the amount of Profit, allocated for
1S59, beiDg 37£ per cent (or 7s. Qd. per £ 1.), the Participating Policy Holders are called ou to pay
only 12s. 6d. per£l of their Premiums— namely £31 5s. instead of £50 ; £12 10s. instead of £20; and
£6 5s. instead of £10 : &c. &c.
The OUTLAY for LIFE ASSURANCE may also be materially lessened by means of the half credit
system. AnAssurance of £500,or upwards, may be effected and kept in force by paymentonly of onehalfof
the first six years' Premiums. The Unpaid Half Premiums remain (without security) in the hands of
• the Assured, so long as he pleases ; and if not paid before death, the amount will be deducted from the
sum Assured — interest thereon being, in the meantime payable annually in advance. The Assured
will receive the same share of Profit as if he had paid the full Premium. The principal advantage of
the system is the small outlay required. For Example an Assurance of £250 on the ordinary system,
on a life of 30 requires a payment, the first year of £6 5s. ; while, under the Half Credit System, that
sum with 7s.6d. of Interest, will assure a sum of £500.
