"THE CLUB."
An institution, under this designation, was organized in
Alloa, December, 1874. The members meet in a room in Post
Office Buildings, which has beer, specially set apart as a reading-
room and billiard -room for the use of the members. President,
Alex. Monteath, Bank Street; secretary, James W. Moir;
treasurer, Forrester Thomson; Charles MacWatt, auditor.
There are 40 ordinary members, and 15 extraordinary.
DOLLAR UNION CLUB.— Instituted Oct., 1880.

Meets in new premises at Bridge Street. Secretary, John
Strachan, M.D. ; treasurer, John A. Gibson ; committee,
Messrs Levack, Haig, Thorn, Paul, Geyer, and Taylor.
ALLOA BURNS' HAGGIS CLUB.
This Club, which holds monthly meetings, during the
winter months, for hearing papers and essays, wa^ formed a
few years ago. Office-bearers: — President, Jas. Westwood ;
vice-president, James Cram ; secretary, James Robertson ;
treasurer, James Robin ; committee — Messrs M'Intosh, Mill,
and Kirk.
ALVA ''CLEAR WINDING DF^VON " BURNS' CLUB.
A Club bearing this title has been instituted in Alva, For
1883 the office-bearers are: — President, William M'Kenzie ;
treasurer, Fergus Hunter ; there is also a Committee. Meet-
ings are held monthly in the Club room.
TILLICOULTRY BURNS' CLUB.
President, Wm. Murray ; vice-president, Thos. M'Laren;
