ALLOA MUSICAL ASSOCIATION.
The members of this Association, nearly 100 in number,
meet in the Museum Hall on Thursday evenings for the study
and culture of high-class music. In April, 1874, they rendered
the Oratorio, Handel's "Messiah." ''I hey had also performances
in 1875, 1876, and 1877. The following are the office-bearers :
Patron, The Right Hon. the Earl of Mar and Kellie; President,
Rev. A. Bryson; vice-president, George Younger, Esq. ; secy.,
Mr J. Muil ; treasurer, Mr D. Drysdale. Committee — Mrs
Locker, Misses Moir, M. J. Moir, Muil, Hunter; James Scott,
W. H. Locker, John A. M'Lachlan, John Melvin, and Alex.
Strang. Conductor, Mr W. A. C. Cruickshank, organist, Alloa.
ALVA TONIC SOL-FA ASSOCIATION.
Organized in 1872, and has a jnembership of 60.
Meets for practice on Thursday evenings. Conductor — W, S.
Barr. Office-bearers: — J. M. Robertson, president ; James
Thomson, secretary and treasurer.
TILLICOULTRY TONIC SOL-FA ASSOCIATION.
Instituted in May 1871. This association continues to
prosper, and at present has a membership of about 100. Early
in 1875 before a large and fashionable assembly, Handel's
"Messiah" was performed in the Popular Institute. A
grand concert, consisting of selections from works of several of
the great masters, was given in February 1S77. "Judas
Maccabseus" is the subject of present study. Office-bearers for
session 1877-78: — Hon, president, Capt. Archibald, Beech-
wood ; hon. vice-president, Rev. Jas. Davidson; secretary, Wm.
Drysdale; treasurer, A. G. Young; directors, \Vm. M'CulIoch,
E. Mitchell, W. Hinchliffe, J. Crawford, J. Hunter, P. Mar-
shall, John Buchan, and H. Kerr. Conductor, Mr Alex.
Faulds, A.C. The association meets for practice on Friday
evenings in the Christian Fellowship Rooms, Stirling Street.
DOLLAR MUSICAL ASSOCIATION.

J. A. Gibson. Committee — Miss Brodie, Miss Young, T.
