NORTH BRITISH RAILWAY.
The Stirling and Duniermline Section of the North British Railway
passes through Alloa, having a branch from the Alloa Station to
Tillicoultry. From that point begins the Devon Valley line of
railway (also part of the North British system) extendingr to Kinross,
passing in its progress Dollar, Rumbling Bridge, &e. The line was
completed and fully opened in May 1871. Cambus Station is the
starting-point for the branch line to Menstry, Gienoehil, and Alva,
A station at Sauchie, on the line to Tillicoultry, has now been opened.

CALEDONIAN RAILWAY.
Trains leave Larbert Station several times a day, and return from
South Alloa three or four times each day. Boats ferry passengers from
Alloa to and from these trains without any special fee. The times of
starting these trains will be found on reference to the authorised
tables of the Railway Company, Agent for the Company at South
Alloa ; Thos. Scott ; North Ferry Station, David Jameson. Wordie
& Co., carting agents, have office in High Street, Alloa — James
M'Donald, Clerk; Robert Bell, foreman,; J. Baird, Stirling, District
Manager.
DEVON VALLEY RAILWAY COMPANY.
By deed of agreement between the North British Railway Company
and the Devon Valley Railway Company, entered into and settled on
the 21st of October, 1874, whereby the undertaking of the Devon
Valley Railway Company is (fr m and after 1st January 1875) vested
in the North British Railway Company by amalgamation, the D^-von
Valley Railway Company is now dissolved, oh the footing that the
£10,000 of ordinary Devon Valley shares are exchanged for Edin-
burgh,, Ptrth, and Dundee North British Railway Ordinary Stock,
and the North British Company assume all the debts, obligations, and
assessments of the Devon Valley Company — all in terms of "The
North British and Devon Valley Railway Companies (Arrangements)
