Veffels from 35 to 50 tons burden fh.il! remain three lawful days
without charge of demurrage, and after that to be paid demurrage
... evefy lawful dry day Ten Shillings. Veffels upwards of 50 tons
a ihill remain four days, and for every lawful dry day after to
be paiiJ Twelve Shillings.
Mailers and Owners of Veffels arriving at the Broomielaw, Port
Ghfgow or Greenock, who are not previoufly hired or engaged,
and whilil they remain there unengaged, fhall be obliged to accept
of the irft Freight at the rates before fpecified that is offered, under
the penalty of Twenty Shillings for each offence; and if the Mailer
or Owner of any Veffel, fhall afk and demand any higher Freights
than thefe before fpecifkd, he fhall be liable to a like penalty of
Twenty Shillings fterhng for each offence.
After Freights at the forefaid Rates fhall have been agreed for, or
offered to Mailers or Owners of Veffels, it fhall not be lawful to nor
in the power of any other fhippers to difappoint the firil freighter or
by bargaining with the Mailer or Owner for a freight at a
higher rate: all which i'econd bargains and agreements fhall be void
and null, and the Mailer or Owner who makes thejjn fhall be liable
in a penalty of Twenty Shillings f£r each offence,
