The Mails for Malta, Greece, and the Ionian Islands, dispatched from London on the Saturday
nearest to the 15th of thk Month, are conveyed from Gibraltar to Malta by Her Majesty's Steam
Packets employed in the Mediterranean.
The Mail of the last day in each Month is forwarded by the same Packet from Falmouth to Alex-
andria ; leaving Mails at Gibraltar and Malta.
The Mails for Greece and the Ionian Islands are conveyed from Malta every fortnight, by Steam
Packets, which start after the arrival of the Mails from England.
The Mails for Egypt and Indid are forwarded direct from Falmouth on the 2d of each Month.
Closed Mails for India are also made up on the 2nd <.f each month, and dispatched via Mar-
seilles, from whence they are forwarded by British Steam Boats. All Letters are sent by this route
unless otherwise addressed.
Letters are likewise sent via Marseilles, from whence they are forwarded by the French Steam
Boats, which leave Marseilles on the 1st, 11th, and 21st of each month, if specially so directed.
THE RETURN OF THE PACKETS is calculated thus :—To and from Jamaica, 12 Weeks
— Leeward Islands, 12— Brazils, 20— Mexico, 18. Gibraltar, 20 days.
From August to January inclusive, the Packet touches at Pernambuco and Bahia, on her outward
passage to Rio Janeiro, aud the other Six Mouths on her homeiuard.
