Inland Bates of Postage— Letters.
Inland letters are those which pass between places in the United Kingdom,
including the Isle of Man, the Orkney, Shetland, Scilly, and Channel Islands.
The prepaid rate of postage is as follows, viz. : —
For a weight not exceeding 4 oz., - - - Id.
For each additional 2 oz., - - - - ^d.
A letter posted unpaid is chargeable on delivery with double postage ; and
letter posted insufficiently prepaid is chargeable with double the deficiency.
Petitions and Addresses to the King are exempt from postage. Members of
(Parliament may also receive by post Petitions and Addresses to His Majesty,
land Petitions to Parliament, not exceeding 2 lbs. in weight, exempt from
postage, provided such be sent without covers, or in covers open at ends.
I No letter may be above 24 inches in length, 12 inches in width, or 12 inches in
fcdepth, unless it be sent to or from one of the Government Offices.
| Books containing eighteen Id stamps and eleven Jd stamps are issued,
tprice 2s.
I Letter Cards are sold at the rate of 4 for 4^d, or 9s per parcel of 96.
1 Embossed Envelopes bearing a penny stamp are sold at the following rates : —
If A " size (4| in. by 3f| in. ), 20 for Is lOd ; ' ' Commercial " size (5^ in. by 3| in. ),
