THE TWENTIETH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of this Society was held on the
10th of April last, when a highly satisfactory REPORT was laid before the Proprietors and Policy-
holders, and unanimously adopted.
The Public will see the advmtage of selecting, in so important a matter as Life Assurance, a well-
established office, which, from its continued prosperity, and its large additions to policies, offers the
greatest inducement to Assurers, combined with the undoubted security of a numerous and wealthy
proprieiary.
ADDITIONS TO POLICIES.
The following Table shows the additions made to Policies for £5C00, which had been in force for
Fourteen Years, to the 31st December 1838: —
A Bonus of Four-fifths, or Eighty per Cent, of the estimated profits is added to Policies entitled, every
seventh year ; or an equivalent reduction made in future Premiums.
The Third Septennial Division of Profits will be declared, to the 31st December 1845. Persons assur-
ing previous to that date will have their proportion of profit appropriated.
Parties travelling in Europe by sea or land, in time of peace, are not charged any extra premium.
Applications for Agencies, in places where none are established, to be addressed to the Secretary.
Various advantageous modes of assuring Lives are offered by this Office, viz.
At Low Premiums, for terms of years, to secure Temporary Loans.
At Reduced Premiums, without Profits, to cover Permanent Loans.
At Ordinary Premiums, with profits, to secure a provision for Families, by means of an annual invest-
ment of savings.
The Sum Assured may be made payable to the party himself on his attaining a specific age, or sooner>
if he should die before attaining that age.
Assurances to the extent of £5000 may be made on a healthy Life, according to any of the above Plans.
