FIRE AND LIFE.
Established 1808, and empowered by Act of Parliament of the Hth Geo. III. cap. 79.
CAPITAL— One Million Two Hundred Thousand Pounds.
Life Department.
The Rates of Premium have been adjusted in accordance with a long experience, and bear equitably
on all ages.
The Accumulated Premiums are over £1,650,000 ; and a Statement showing how these are invested
can be had.
The sum of over £5,119,600 has been paid during the existence of the Office for Claims under Life
Policies, of which amount a very considerable part was for Bonuses.
The next Bonus Valuation will be made up to Christmas 1874, and Policies then in force will
participate therein in proportion to the time they may have been in force.
Fire Department.
This Company undertakes the Assurance of almost every species of Property in the United
Kingdom, at rates of Premium and upon principles which will be found quite as advantageous to the
interests of the Assured as those offered by any other. The Directors can confidently refer to the
well-known character of the Company for liberality and promptitude in the discharge of Claims made
upon it during the many years it has been established.
Mills, Manufactories, Distilleries, Warehouses, Stores, Ships Building, Ships in Harbour, Houses,
Furniture, Stocks-in-Trade, etc., Assured for the year or any shorter period.
The Policies of this Company cover Losses occasioned by the Explosion of Gas. Losses occasioned
by Lightning -will also be paid.
The Fire Duty being wholly abolished, even the least Hazardous Property ought now in every case
to be Assured, and existing Assurances can be increased without increasing the cost hitherto paid.
Tables of Rates, Forms of Proposal, and any information needful to effect Life or Fire Assurances, may be
obtained on application to the Office, 92 Cheapside, London; or to any of the Company's Agents.
