Houses occupied in different tenements, i^rng- distinct properties, to pay
Is 6d for each window under 7. If the vvindows exceed 1, to be ch^ged as
an entire bouse.
Windows in Shops or Warehouses, in front, and on the ground or base-
ment storey, are exempt, if not exceeding the number of 3.
Poor who receive pubhc charity, are exempted ; also, persons having 3
children wholly maintained by them, and occupying houses not worth £,S
yearly rent, and not having more than 6 windows.
Houses furnished, and left to the care of any person or servant, are liable
to window duty.
DUTIES ON COMMERCIAL SERVANTS.
Travellers or Riders, where one is employed, £\ 10s. For two or more,
£2 10s. each.
Clerk, Book-keeper, or Office-keeper, where one is employed, £1 — for
two or more do., £\ 10s. each. Shopmen, Warehousemen, Cellarmen,
Porters, &c. £1 each. — The only exemptions from these duties, are Ap-
prentices bound for seven years, where no premium has been given or con-
tracted for ; and male persons employed as Shopmen wholly maintained
and lodged in the house of their employers, being under 18 years of age.
* Houses having less than 7 xvindows^ If charged to tJie Inhahited House Duii/, are
liable to the duty ofds. ; and if not charged to that duty^ only to2s. 3d.
