Postal Orders can be so combined that any sum consisting of
shillings and sixpences up tc 20s, may transmitted by two Orders,
and Postage Stamps may be used iip to fivepence for broken
amounts, ivhich ■-^fmnp.'^ should he affixed on the face of the Orders.
3. The person to whom a Postal Order is issued must, before
parting with it, till in the name of the person to whom the amount
is to be paid, and may fill in the name of the Money Order Office
at which the amount is to ba paid. The person so named must,
before payment can be made, sign the recei]Dt at the foot of the
Order and must also fill in the name of the Money Order Office,
if that has not been already done.
4. Every person to whom a Postal Order is issued should keep
a record of the number, date and name of office of issue to
facilitate inquiry if the Order should be lost.
No Money Order, Postal Orders, or Savings Bank business is
transacted on a Smiday.
Applications to Return Letters. - A letter when it has
once been posted, cannot be returned to the writer, but musi; be
forwarded to the person to whom it is addressed.
Change and Bad Money. — No Postmaster is bound to give
change, or is authorised to demand change ; and when any money
is paid at this office whether as change or otherwise, no question
as to its right amount, goodness, or weight can be entertained
after it has been removed from the counter.
POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK.
1. Post Office Savings Banks are established at all Money Order
Offices in the United Kingdom and are open for the receipt and
payment of money daily during the hours appointed for Money
Order business.
2. At these banks deposits of one shilling, or any number of
shillings, will be received; but no one may deposit more tlian £30
in one year ending 31st December, or make a further deposit when
