The Subscription Sweepstakes by Members of the Society forthe
Best Two Queys, calved after the 1st of January 1834,bred by, and
never out of the possession of, the competitor, were awarded to Mr
James Stewart in Netheimill.
About Sixty members of the Society afterwards sat down to an
excellent dinner in the Saracen's Head Inn, William Napier, Esq.,
of Blackston in the chair, William Glen, Esq., of Netherwood,
croupier.
This Show has been accompanied with a high degree of satisfac-
tion. The number of the cattle on the field, their excellent quality,
the fineness of the weather, and the number of spectators, ail con-
spired to give eclat to the proceedings. It was stated by one of the
Judges at the Dinner, that the Show was superior to the one of last
year at Ayr, before the Highland Society. The award of the Judges
was not given till after the most mature investigation, and it certain-
ly afforded us a good deal of satisfaction to find their award when
announced, agreeing in so many instances with the opinions previous-
ly expressed by experienced farmers and country gentlemen outside
of the ring.
