ADDRESS.
To the utility of Directories in general, the number published
annually throughout the kingdom bears ample testimony ; while the
increasing patronage bestowed oh the Publisher of the Paisley Di-
rectory, affords sufficient evidence of their importance to the Ma-
nufacturing, the Agricultural, and Commercial interests of this po-
pulous district.
The utility of Directories however, is not confined to crowded
Cities and Towns, but extends to all the circumjacent villages and
country districts with which these towns are intimately connected
by their Manufactures. Awax-e of this fact, the Publisher of the
Paisley Directory has been induced to extend his plan, and to com-
pile a Directory, which will' at once form a cheap and comprehen-
sive Directory of useful statistics to all connected with the Manu-
factures, &c. of the interior and eastern parts of Renfrewshire.
And while he returns his sincere thanks for the prompt and va-
luable assistance he has received ; he solicits, and hopes to merit a
continuance of former patronage and support.
NOTICES.
The Public are requested, when Removals, and change of Firms
take place, to send early notice thereof to the Publisher, in order
that the lists may be made up by the 10th of June.
That the work may be as useful as possible, by being complete,
the Publisher would take it kindly, that such individuals in busi-
ness, as may have been omitted in former editions of the Directory,
would send their addresses to his office.
Attending to these notices will be found a great convenience to
tlie Trading Public, and enable the Publisher to make the lists more
complete.
