SCOTTISH EQUITABLE
(MUTUAL) LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY.

THE SCOTTISH EQUITABLE is Zi purely Mutual Office. There are
no Shareholders to absorb any portion of the Profits, which are
therefore wholly divided among the holders of Participating Policies. Its
leading features are Unquestionable Security, Liberal Conditions of Insurance,
and Early Participation in Profits.
No Member of the Society incurs any personal responsibility for claims
under the Society's policies.
Most of the Policies, after five years' endurance, are freed from all con-
ditions except the payment of the ordinary premium.
POSITION OF THE SOCIETY ON 1st MARCH 1879.
Existing Assurances including Bonus additions, £8,412,367
Incoine, 1878-79, 317,147
Accumulated Funds, 2, 402,544
NON-FORFEITABLE POLICIES
are now granted by the Society on a new and improved plan, which com-
bines the advantages of Moderate Premiums payable for a limited number
of years (11, 22, or 33), Ultimate Participation in the Profits, Fixed Surrender
Values, and the issue o^ Fully Paid-up Policies without special application
to the Directors.
LOANS are granted in connection with Life Assurance, on Life In-
terests, Reversions, and other approved Security. The Directors are also
prepared to entertain proposals for the sale of Reversions to the Society.
