The funds are applied in providing bursaries for the children of parents whc
are not in the receipt of parochial aid, but in circumstances requiring aid f oi
giving them higher education. The allocation is as follows, viz. : —
1. To provide school books and writing materials for children at ordinary
schools, £200.
2. To provide bursaries for education at the Harris and Morgan Academies
for pupils in the sixth standard and upwards, each tenable for two j^ears, re^
ceive from £6 to £10 per annum according to class attended. All awarded bj
public competition. Open to children attending any Board school in Dundee
Authorized sum £700.
3. To provide bursaries (1) for education at the High School for pupils attend
ing a Board school in Dundee in the fourth, fifth, or sixth standard, each tenabh
at the middle school not longer than three years, receive £10, £11, and £12 eacl
vear ; (2) for education at tbe Upper School of the High School. Open t(
High School pupils only. Tenable for three years. Authorized sum £500,
4. To i^rovide bursaries to be held at a L^niversity, University College, O!
approved technical school, tenable for three years, of the value of £21
annually. Open to all who have attended a public or state-aided school ii
Dundee at least one year before examination. Authorized sum £300.
.5. To provide bursaries for pupils attending evening classes for higher o>||!lil
technical instruction. Awarded lay public competition; maj' be held for thret
years, of tlie annual value of £1, £1 10s, and £2 respectively. Authorizec |l{
fium £400. The Morgan Trust contributes £150 per annum of tliis sum.
6. For the promotion of efficient evening classes for gratuitous jDractica
