Foreign and Colonial Post Cards. ll!
Single and Reply Official Post Cards are transmissible to all parts (except Si *'^'-
Belena, to which single cards only can be sent) — Single Cards, Id each ; Replj
Cards, 2d each. (Inland Post Cards are transmissible abroad if the additiona
postage required is supplied by postage stamps being affixed. ) The regulations
relating to Inland Post Cards apply also to cards posted for places abroad.
Private Post Cards bearing adhesive stamps of the value of one penny, anc
private reply cards with adhesive stamps of the value of one penny on eacl'
half, may be sent as post cards to places abroad, provided that they are iii
â– conformity with the official post cards. They must be of the same size anci
substance as the official cards, and must have the words " Post Card" printec*
.on the address side, without the Uoyal Arms. The reply halves of private
double cards must bear in print the words "Post Card — Great Britain and
Ireland" and "Reply."
Plain cards without any printed inscription cannot be sent abroad as singhlmi]
or reply Post Cards. Private Reply Cards are, of course, not trans lit
missible to St Helena.

general regulations.
Dimensions. — The dimensions allowed are : —
For Austria, Azores (via Lisbon), Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cameroons, Denmarkj «.
Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Liberia, Madeira, Montenegro, Morocc( ;f,
(except Tangier), Norway, Portugal (direct), Roumania, Samoa (via Haiui
burg), Servia — 2 feet in any direction.
Parcels which slightly exceed 2 ft. in length are accepted for transmissior
to Belgium, France, Holland, Luxembiu-g, Sweden, and Switzerland, pro
vided that their other dimensions are inconsiderable.
For Algeria, Annam, Argentine Republic, Azores {via France), Cayenne
Chili, Cochin China, Congo Free State, Corsica, Dvitch Guiana, and Eas
and West Indies, Eritrea, Frencli Congo, German East Africa, Greece
Guadaloupe, Java, Madagascar, Malta {via France), Martinique, Mayotte
New Caledonia, New Guinea (German), Obock, Persia (except Banda;
Abas, Bushire, Jass, and Linga), Portugal {via France), Reunion, Senegal
Spain, Tahiti, Tonquin, Tripoli (Africa), Tunis, Turkey, Uruguay — greates' jjj
length, 2 feet ; greatest length and girth combined, 4 feet.
For Canada — Greatest length, 2 ft. ; greatest depth or width, 1 ft.
For Mexico — Greatest length, 2 ft. ; greatest girth, 4 ft.
For places named in the Table of Parcel Postage — other than thos(
detailed above — same as for Inland Parcel Post.
The postage must in all cases be ijaid in advance, by means of postage stamps
.affixed by the sender. Each parcel must be plainly directed, and shoulc
bear the words "Parcel Post" in the upper left-hand corner, and the nam<
.and address of the sender. The date of posting should also be added
A parcel must not be jiosted in a letter box, but, as in the case of the Inlancjjy
Parcel Post, must be taken into a Post Office and presented at the counter.
Parcels will be liable to Customs duties and regulations, and the sender o;
each parcel will be required to make a Customs declaration furnishing — upor
,a special form provided for the purpose, which can be obtained at any Pos' '«
Office — an accurate statement of the contents and value, the date of posting '
. and other particulars.
Parcels for Her Majesty's ships cannot, as a rule, be accepted for trans
mission unless the name of the particular place, to which in each case th<
parcel is to be forwarded, forms part of the address.
