REGULATIONS FOR THE STEAM BOATS.
Glasgow, 2a July, 1822.
Whereas, frequent d'isappointments, aud great in-
conveBien*"*, have l>eeii cxpeiieiiced by Passengers
and otiiers, in consequence of the" Masters of
Steam Boats, from iniproper competition aud ri-
A'alship, postponing their departure for consider-
able and uncertain periods, after the times they
had previously intimated to tlie Public, and from
their altering the Notices of the times of sailing,
originally given l>y them ;— the Magistrates and
Council of Glasgow, as Trustees for enlarging
and managing the Harbour of Glasgow, and in
virtue of the powers committed to them by the
Acts of Parliament in that behalf, Hereby Enact
and Ordain, that trom and after the Sth July in-
stant, the Masters and Crews of the Steam Boats,
for the conveyance of Passengers, which ply be-
tween the Harbour of Glasgow, and other "ports
in the Frith of Clyde, and Seas adjacent, shall not
be permitted to alter the times of their sailing, as
first intimated by them to the Public; but shall
depart from the said Harbour punctually at the
times of sailing, which they have originally an-,
jiounced, on their boards, or otherwise, muler a
penalty not exceeding Five Pounds for each of-
fence ; aud that the Assistant Hnrbour Master for
Steam Boats, ^hall take care these llcgulations be
strictly enforced.

Paislet-Canal. — A boat for passengers leaves Glas-
gow for Paisley and Johnston, at 10 o'clock in
the forenoon, and 4t 4 and 5 in the afternoon, in
summer i and 10 in the forenoon, aud 4 in tlie

afternoon, in winter ; and an extra boat o»i Wed-
nesday, at 6 in the afternoon, in summer, aud at
5 in winter ; fare to Paisley 6d aud 9d.— to John
ston 9d, and Is.
Track boats for goods depart from Glasgow for
Paisley and Johnston at (> in the morning— from
Johnston for Paisley at 9 in tlie morning— and
from Paisley for Glasgow at 10 and 12 in the fore-
noon ; agents, John M'Gee, Port Eslintoun, and
John Miller, Moodie's court, where list of freights
may be seen.
MoNKLAND Canal.— A passage boat starts from
Faskin, (II miles distant from Glasgow) at half-
oast 7 in the morning, aud from the BasiuTawn-
head, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon ; fare 8d. and
Is. .'id.— other craft for coals and lieavy articles
daily.
Great Canal passaije boat."? to Edinburgh depart
from Port Duiulas every lawful day, at 8 and II
in the morning, and 4 in the afternoon. Fares,
best cabin, 3s.; second cabin, 2s. From lock.
No. 16, near Falkirk, at .5 and 10 in the forenoon,
and 2 in the aiternoou. — N. B. The boat that
leaves Port Dundas at 8 o'clock in the morniug is
the one that takes piisse^ geis to the Union Canal
passage boat, at I'oi t Donnie, and to the Steam
lM)ats which sail from Grangemouth- And the
One, at 11 takes passengers to Stirling, &c.
