The object of the institution is to afford facilities
to working men for social intercourse, mutual im-
provement, instruction, and rational recreation. It
is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The library
contains 2000 volumes, including a number of re-
cently issued works. The reading room is supplied
with all the leading newspapers and magazines.
The large halls are allotted for games, including
billiards, bagatelle, summer ice, draughts, and chess.
Annual subscription, including library, 4s.; half-
yearly subscription, 2s. 6d. ; monthly ticket, 6d. ;
do., including library, 8d. ; visitors, Id.
ORAL SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF.

Established in 1880 for the instruction of the
deaf in articulation and lip-reading. Mrs. Wallace,

Objects. — The objects of the Association are to
resist all attempts at unequal or unjust taxation of
house property ; to endeavour to remove the burdens
by which it is at present unfairly oppressed; to give
mutual advice and counsel in cases of difficulty, and
generally to take cognisance of all legislation affect-
ing house property.
THE MASTER MASONS' ASSOCIATION OF
GLASGOW AND NEIGHBOURHOOD.
The object of the association is to collect informa-
tion regarding the state of the labour-market and
other matters connected with the trade for the use
and guidance of members ; to consider all questions
of wages, modes of measurement, disptites with work-
men which involve any principle of general import-
ance, and any other questions that may directly or
indirectly bear on the interests of the trade.
