ADVERTISEMENTS.
Scottish Provident
ESTABLISHED 1837.
In this Society are combined the advantages of
Mutual Assurance with Moderate Premiums.
The PPx^EMIUMS are so moderate that an Assurance of £1200
or £1250 may generally be secured from the first for the yearly
payment which usually would be charged (with profits) for £1000
only — equivalent to an immediate Bonus of 20 to 25 per cent.
The WHOLE PEOFITS go to the Policyholders, on a system at once safe and
equitable, — no share being given to those by whose early death there is a loss. Large
additions have thus been made to the policies of those who participate, notwithstanding
the lowness of the premiums.
The following are the results reported for 1894: —
The New Assurances completed were £1,468,659,
being the largest New Business in any one year.
Premium Income, £676,369. Total Income, £1,027,942.
The Claims, including Bonus Additions, were £464,686.
Jlore than one-half of the Members who died during the last Septennium were entitled to Bonuses, which,
notwithstanding that the premiums do not as a rule exceed the non-profit rates of other OfBces, were on the
average e(jual to an addition of about 50 per cent, to the Policies which participated.
The Realised Funds now amount to Nine Millions sterling.
Their Increase during the year was £^13,453.
The Surplus at the 7th Septennial Investigation, with division of profits, amounted
to £1,423,018, or deducting amoimt already paid as Intermediate Bonuses, £1,362,186
— of which £970,391 is to be divided among 13,220 Policies entitled to participate,
and £391,796 to be reserved for future accumulation and division.
