Port-Philip. Letters are despatched on the last day of each
month, by Packet, to Sydney (whence there is an Overland Post
to Port- Philip) ; Is not exceeding Joz., and so on ; or, sp-^cially
so addressed, may be sent ^ by Private Ship," 8d not exceed-
ing |- oz., and so on. All Letters must be paid. S'^e Aus-
tralia. Newspapers by Packet free ; by Private Ship, Id each.
Portugal. Mails, by which Letters must be paid, despatched on
the mornings of the 7th, 17th, and 27th, of each month, unless
those dates fall on a Sunday, and then on the following morn-
ing, via Southampton, Is 9d not exceeding J oz., or daily, if so
directed, via France. Paid through France, lOd under J oz..
Is 3d under J oz., 2s Id under f oz., 2s 6d under 1 oz., 3s 9d
■ under Ij oz., and so on. Newspapers, 2d each.
Prussia. Letters are despatched on Tuesday and Friday, via
Hamburgh ; Postage Is lOd not exceeding ^ oz., and so on; or
via France daily, if so addressed, must be paid as far as Calais,
5d not exceeding ^oz. ; or through France, lOd under J oz.. Is 3d
under J oz., 23 Id under f oz., 23 6d under 1 oz., 3s 9d under
l|:Oz., and so on. Also, if addressed, dailj via Belgium; Pos-
tage 8d not exceeding xjoz.-; by either route the Postage must
