Scottish Widows' Fund Life Assurance Society — continued.
THE FORTY-SIXTH ANNUAL GENERAL COURT of this SOCIETY was held on the 25th May,
when the Report of the Directors exhibited, inter alia, the following results : —
During- the j'ear 1859-60, new Policies have been issued and taken up bj' the parties, assuring
capital sums amounting to £538,005, the Premiums payable thereon being £17,949.
The Accumulated Fund at 31st December 1859 was upwards oi— Three Millions Five Hundred
and Eighteen Thousand Pounds — and
The Annual Revenue at the same date was more than — Four Hundred and Thirty-four
Thousand Pounds.
From the Septennial Report by the Auditor and Manager as to the state of the Society's affairs,
it appeared that the Surplus Fund at 31st December 1859 was £992,063, 6s. 9d., and after setting
aside, in terms of the Articles of Constitution, One-third thereof as a Guarantee Fund, a Bonus ot
£1, i2s. 6d. per cent per annum for the past seven years was declared upon the original sums assured,
and upon previous additions; the amount thus actually added to the greater number of the Policies
being larger than at any former Declaration.
The following Table will shew the amount to which Policies of £1000, opeioed in the under-men-
tioned years, have been increased by the addition of Bonuses : —
N.B. — 3'o those Policies which become claims before another Divisio7i of Profits takes place,
further additions will he made corresponding to the number of Premiums paid after 1859.
Copies of the Annual Report, Prospectuses, Forms of Proposal, &c., may be obtained at the
Head Office, or any of the Agencies in the three kingdoms.
