engaged, the hour shall be punctually kept, and the
arrival immediately announced.
8. That carriages shall be hired from the stance
nearest the residence of the party.
9. That all parcels or other articles left in car-
riages, shall be immediately returned to the owner,
if known ; or, if not known, shall be sent to the
Council Chamber.
10. That the fares shall be charged in terms of
the preceding table.
11. That a copy of these regulations shall be kept
by each coachman *, and the regulations shall be
enforced in the Council Chamber, at the instance
of the Procurator- Fiscal, by penalties not exceed-
ing £1 sterling for each offence, or by withdrawing
the licence. The proprietor shall be answerable for
his servants.

after 2 o'clock in the morning.
Any person calling a chair to a lodging,
and not making use of it, to pay 9
