GLASGOW ELDERS' WIVES" AND DAUGH-
TERS' ASSOCIATION, IN CONNECTION
WITH THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND, OR
HOME FOR GIRLS,
13 Canning Place, Stirling Road.
This association sent out its thirty- seventh report in
December last. Its chief work is to train orphan
and destitute girls as domestic servants in the Home.
It is undenominational in its benefits, and suitable
applications are at once entertained. Income from
subscriptions and other sources, about £450. Secre-

The objects of the society are — (1) To assist in
the education of the children of members of the clan ;

clan records and other documents. The society is
non-political and unsectarian.
THE CLAN MACLEAN ASSOCIATION.
Instituted 1892.
The objects are — the reviving, fostering, and pro-
moting of Clan interests and sentiments by collecting
and preserving records and traditions in any way
relating to the Clan ; the cultivation of social inter-
course among the members ; the rendering of assis-
tance to necessitous and deserving Clansmen and
Clanswomen ; the encouraging of the study of the
Gaelic language and literature, and education gener-
ally. All persons bearing the surname of MacLean
in any of its various forms orspellings, including ladies
bearing the name either by parentage or by marriage,
also, persons bearing other surnames, but whose
maternal parent or grandparent was a SlacLean, are
eligible as members. Terms of membership, ordinary,
2s. 6d. per annum; extraordinary, 10s. 6d. per
annum ; hfe, one payment of £3 3s., and ladies, £1 Is,

THE CLAN GREGOR SOCIETY.
Instituted 1822.
The objects of the Society are to assist, by way of
bursaries or otherwise, in the education of young
persons belonging to the Clan Gregor and bearing
one or other of the Clan names and recommended I
by a member of the Society ; to relieve necessitous
and deserving persons belonging to the Clan Gregor;
and to collect and pubhsh ancient or interesting
documents or articles on interesting events connected
with, and to compile an authentic history of the Clan,
and of the different families belonging to it. The
Society is non-political and non-sectarian, and both
ladies and gentlemen are eligible as members.
The membership is of two classes, viz. : — (1) Life
Members, who shall make a single payment of £5 5S.
or upwards ; and (2) Ordinary Members, who shall I
make an annual payment of, at least, 5s. In addition, ,
ladies and gentlemen who are in any way connected i
with, or friendly to the Clan, or who may make
donations, or be otherwise serviceable to the Clan,
may become Honorary Members of the Society with
the privilege of recommending applicants.

(2) assisted secondary education ; (3) rendering assist-
ance to clansmen requiring such ; (4) collecting relicS,
&c. ; (5) wearing Menzies' tartan ; (6) raising bursary
to assist clansmen to become Dr.'s., C.E.'s., &c.; (7)
raising chief's benevolent fund, &c., &c.

intercourse between gentlemen connected with Stir--
lingshire. '
