CHARITABLE AND FEIENDLY INSTITUTIONS.
THE CLAN GREGOR SOCIETY.
InstitDted 1822.
The objects of the Society are to assist, by way of
wursaries or otherwise, in the education of young
persons belonging to the Clan Gregor and bearing
one or other of the Clan names and recommended
by a member of the Society ; to relieve necessitous
and deserving persons belonging to the Clan Gregor
and not in receipt of parochial relief ; and to collect
and publish ancient or interesting documents or
articles on interesting events connected with, and to
compile an authentic history of the Clan, and of the
different families belonging to it. The Society is
non-political and non-sectarian, and both ladies and
gentlemen are eligible as members.
The membership is of two classes, viz. : — (1) Life
Members, who shall make a single payment of £5 os.
or upwards; and (2) Ordinary Members, who shall
make an annual payment of, at least, 5s. In addition,
ladies and gentlemen who are in any way connected
with, or friendly to the Clan, or who may make
donations, or be otherwise serviceable to the Clan,
may become honorary members of the Society with
the privilege of recommending applicants.

THE GRAND ANTIQUITY SOCIETY
OF GLASGOW.
The objects of this society are the relief of its mem-
bers in infirmity or old age, and the securing of a pro-
vision to the widows of members in indigent circum-
stances. Persons eligible for admission to the society
are burgesses, who are also the sons and grandsons
either by the father's or mother's side of burgesses.
The entry-money is £2 os. 6d., excepting that for
the sons and sons-in-law of members, who are admitted
upon payment of the sum of ill 2s. 6d.

THE GLASGOW SICK POOR AND PRIVATE
NURSING ASSOCIATION.
(Founded by the late Mary 0. Higginbotham, 1875.)
Under the patronage of H.E.H. the Princess Louise.
The object of this association is to provide trained
and experienced women of high character as district
nurses, to attend the sick poor in their own homes,
and to provide, if it be thought advisable, the sick
poor with food, medicine, surgical appliances, clothing,
bedding, or change of residence, either gratuitously
or otherwise. A staff of medical, surgical, and fever
nurses is also kept for those who are able to pay for
their services.

The society was instituted in 1791 for the purpose
of providing a fund out of which certain allowances
might be made to the ordinary members of the society
during sickness, infirmity, and superannuation.
The entry money for ordinary members is 10s. 6d.,
besides quarter accounts in proportion to age. Hono-
rary members are admitted on papnent of £1 Is.
and upwards to the benevolent fund.

This association sent out its thirtieth report in
December last. Its chief work is to train orphan
and destitute girls as domestic seiwants in the Home.
It is undenominational in its benefits, and suitable
applications are at once entertained. Income from
subscriptions and other sources, about £450. Chan--
