GLASGOW HOME FOE DESERTED MOTHERS.

Establislied in 1873, and supported by volunlaiy
contributions.
The aim and object of this Home is to supply a
desideratum, the want of which has been long experi-
enced in this city and the West of Scotland, \'iz., to
afford temporary shelter and maintenance to destitute
and houseless mothers, with their helpless infants.
Those only who have for the first time deviated from
the paths of ■S'irtue, or who have been led astray, are
eligible for admission. While resident in the Home
a vigilant supervision is exercised over them. Much
attention is paid to their moral and religious welfare,
and every effort made to procure suitable situations
for them. The infants are placed under the care of
proper and trustworthy nurses, all of whom are under
the oversight and supervision of the matron.
The Home is managed by a committee of ladies,
assisted by a board of gentlemen, and is under the
general superintendence of a matron.

ASSOCIATION FOR THE RELIEF OF INCU-
RABLES FOR GLASGOW AND THE WEST
OF SCOTLAND.

This association has for its objects the establishment
andmaintenance of one or more hospitals for the relief of
persons in Glasgow and the West of Scotland labour-
ing under chronic and incurable diseases, and the
aiding of such persons in their own homes. The
association has an institution at Kirkintilloch, near
Glasgow, known as Broombill Home, with accom-
modation for 115 patients, and spends a large
sum monthly in assisting about 190 incurables in
their own houses. The whole affairs of the asso-
ciation are managed by a board of directors con-
sisting of twenty-one members, in addition to Miss
Beatrice Clugston, as promoter, and twenty-eight
ca; o^cjo members. Chairman of the Association, the

THE GRAND ANTIQUITY SOCIETY
OF GLASGOW.
The objects of this society are the relief of its mem-
bers in infirmity or old age, and the securing of a pro-
vision to the widows of members in indigent circum-
stances. Persons eligible for admission to the society
are burgesses, who are also the sons and grandsons
either by the father's or mother's side of burgesses.
The entry-money is £2 3s. 6c?., excepting that for
the sons and sons-in-law of members, who are admitted
upon payment of the sum of .£1 2s. 6d.

ROBERTSON BEQUEST.
Founded by Miss Isobel Robertson, 5th August,
1844. The funds are to be distributed amongst (1)
ten decayed gentlewomen, who shall have been re-
siding for at least 10 years in Glasgow, who shall
not be less than 45 years of age, and shall never
have been married; (2) ten females each of whom
shall have, for at least seven years consecutively,
been a hired servant in one family in Glasgow, shall
not be under 50 years of age, shall never have been
married, and at the time of selection shall be out of
service. Amount of Pensions at present (1) j£15
and (2) £7 10s.

bership to parties eligible by connection with any of
these counties; and persons willing to be enrolled
are respectfully solicited to communicate with the
treasurer or secretary of the society, or any of the

BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION.

The objects of the Association are to cultivate and
maintain a friendly intercourse between the natives
of Antrim and Down residing in Glasgow and its
neighbourhood, and to raise a fund for the purpose of
affording temporary relief to any of them who, from
sickness or any other emergency, may stand in need
of charitable assistance.
