CHARITABLE AND FRIENDLY INSTITUTIONS.
GLASGOW CONVALESCENT HOME.
Lenzie.
The Board of Management consists of the members
selected by the subscribers and various public and
charitable bodies in the city of Glasgow. William
Ker, Esq., 27 West George Street, chairman.
The Home is situated at Lenzie, about half a mile
to the south-east of the railway station. It has accom-
modation for 67 patients, of whom 30 are taken from
■ the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and 27 from the general
public resident in Glasgow and the neighbourhood,
and 10 from the Western Infirmary of Glasgow.
The subscribers to the Home have the privilege of
recommending the general public patients.

POOR CHILDREN'S DINNER TABLE
SOCIETY.
Instituted in 1869 for the purpose of supplying
deserving and destitute children with one meal daily
during the winter months. In 1887-88 fifteen tables
were open, viz., Barony Institute, Black st, Town-
head; JVI'Kechnie st., Calton; Baltic st., Bridgeton;
Mission Hall, Bishop street, Anderston ; Nelson st.,
Tradeston; Free St. George's Mission Hall, Burnside
Buildings, Garscube rd.; Burnside Hall, off Duke st.;
Day Refuge, James Morrison st. ; Pitt st., Anderston;
Bethany Hall, Bridgeton; Partick; Pollokshaws;
Camlachie; Whiteinch; and Caledonian Hall, London
road. Tickets of admission are distributed by Miss
Murray and Miss Malcolm, visitors, and a commit-
tee of ladies superintends each dinner at 12.30

KILMUN SEASIDE HOME.
A sea-side home at Kilmun for invalid poor,
whose health is likely to be restored by a couple of
weeks or so of fresh air, nourishing diet, and cheer-
ful society, and who are entirely without the means
of securing such for themselves. It is capable of
accommodating about 100 persons, and is entirely
supported by voluntary contributions. Poverty and
infirmity are the sole qualifications of admission.
Since its institution upwards of 16,000 poor people
have had the benefit of it free of charge. J ames Airlie,

CITY OF GLASGOW NATIVE BENEVOLENT
ASSOCIATION.
Its object is to afford assistance to natives, and
widows and families of natives, of the city of Glas-
gow, who from reverses of fortune, or otherwise, have
been reduced to necessitous circumstances. A pay-
ment of £5 6s., either in one sura at entry or by five
successive yearly instalments of £1 Is., constitutes

GLASGOW ANNANDALE ASSOCIATION.
This Association is composed of persons connected
with Annandale by birth, relationship, or otherwise.
Its object is to cultivate friendly intercourse between
Annandale residents in Glasgow and Eeighbourhood,
and to supplement the work of the Glasgow Dumfries-
shire Society in its social aspects by the promotion
of the Glasgow Annandale Reunion, and by other
methods. The latter specially include the mainten-
ance of a reading-room at Rosemount School, 442
Sauchiehall Street, where the Dumfriesshire papers
can be seen, and which is open to all persons in
any way connected with Annandale, every Monday
evening during the winter months. Annual subscrip-
tion for ordinary members, 2s ; life membership being
constituted by a payment of £1 Is., either in one sum
or by four yearly instalments of 5s. 3d. Secretary

GLASGOW MISSION TO THE DEAF
AND DUMB.
Established 1822.
Objects— 1. To provide extended Religious and
Secular Instruction among the Deaf and Dumb
throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland, after
they have quitted School. 2. To visit the sick, un-
emploj-ed, and other Deaf and Dumb persons at their
homes. 3. To assist the Deaf and Dumb who have
good characters in obtaining employment. 4. To
provide an Intei-preter where necessary. 5. To grant
relief in cases found to be really deserving.
