CHARITABLE AND FRIENDLY INSTITUTIONS.
HUTCHESON'S HOSPITAL.
The funds are designed for citizens of Glasgow, or
of persons who, in the estimation of the patrons, may
be considered needful and deserving of aid, and who
shall hare can'ied on business or trade in Glasgow for
some time and to some extent, on their own accomit,
or who shall have been in any way the means of pro-
moting the prosperity of the city, who by misfortune
-have been reduced in circumstances ; and also in
favour of the widows and daughters of persons of
the above description whose circumstances the patrons
may consider call for such assistance ; a preference
to be given, cceteris paribus, to persons enrolled as
burgesses of Glasgow previously to the 13th Januaiy,
1871. Persons receiving aid from the parish or ses-
sion are not eligible as pensioners. Applicants aught
to be at least 50 years of age. Widows having two
or more children dependent on them may, however,
be enrolled at 40 years of age. The claims of appli-
cants resident within the distance of one mile from
Glasgow are preferalile to those resident at a distance.

the ten Estabhshed Chmxhes of Glasgow ; three per-
sons to be annually elected by the Merchants' House ;
three by the Trades' House ; and six ministers,
to be elected by the patrons, from among the ministers
of religion officiating in Glasgow not being ministers
of the Established Church, and to hold office dm-ing
their incumbency ; not more than two ministers of
any one denomination to be elected to hold office at

MISSION TO THE OUT-DOOR BLIND FOR
GLASGOW AND THE WEST OF SCOTLAND
Has under its care upwards of 1200 blind persons,
resident in Glasgow and the counties of Lanark,
Renfrew, Ayr, Dumbarton, Argyle, and Bute. These
blind persons are sought out, visited at their own
houses, taught to read, and provided with books in
raised type free of charge. The great majority being
deprived of sight at, or near, middle life, and are
thereby rendered unfit to follow their ordinary occu-
pations, means are used to find employment for them
suited to their altered circumstances.

MISSION COAST HOME, SALTCOATS.
The object of this Home is to afford a gratuitous
care and treatment hydropathically to the suffering
of any country or clime, and is wholly supported by
voluntary contributions unsolicited. All communi-

Mission Coast Home, Saltcoats.
GLASGOW EAGLESHAM BENEVOLENT
ASSOCIATION.
Its object is to afford assistance to the deserving
native poor of Eaglesham resident there and else-
where, and is composed of per;ons connected with
the parish of Eaglesham by birth or relationship.
