and speakers, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Wallis, 50 Lang-
side road, Crosshill ; hon. secretary, Andrew Drum-
mond, 8 Newhall terrace. Public services at 6.30 on
Sundays ; meetings for members and friends on Sun-
days at 11.30 a.m., and Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
Spiritualists claim to know that the so-called
" dead " are alive and able, under certain conditions,
to communicate with earth-dwellers. That the prac-
tice of spirit-communion and the exercise of " spirit-
ual gifts " (viz. mediumship) has been common in all
ages, and is possible now ; such communion, proving
human immortality, provides a basis of fact for belief
in a future life, and an incentive to right living here.
Our object is to present and teach the spiritual
philosophy and encourage investigation into the phe-
nomena, that the knowledge of spiritual existence
may bless humanity and the cultivation and exercise
of spiritual gifts lead to a growth in spirituality in
this world to prepare us for the next.
