i23. Claims for reimbursement should be accom-
•aied — 1. In the case of non-delivery, by a written
itement from the terminal office, or the addressee,
l,t the telegram has not been received. 2. In the
>ie of error in a telegram of which the sender has
wpaid the repetition to the office of destination, or
{delay, by the actual message form delivered to the
addressee. 3. In the case of error in a telegram of
which the receiver has paid the repetition from the
office of origin, by the original message form delivered
to the addressee, together with the form upon which
the repeated telegram is written.
24. No claim for reimbursement for European
telegrams will be entertained unless it is made within
two months of the date of the original telegram ; nor
in the case of Extra-European telegrams, unless it is
made within sis months from the date of the original
telegram. Foreign administrations decline to make any
inquiry into complaints which do not involve a return
of the cost of the telegram within the limits of
Rule 22.
MAILS FOE THE ORKNEY ISLANDS.
Mails to and from the Orkney Islands are conveyed daily (excepting Sunday) from Thurso at 9.25 a.m.,
1 from Kirkwall at 7.0 a.m.
MAILS FOR THE SHETLAND ISLANDS.
I The mails for the Shetland Islands are despatched from Aberdeen every Monday and Friday evenings,
iving at Lerwick on Wednesday and Sunday mornings ; and returning from Lerwick to Aberdeen every
nday and Wednesday at 6 and 10 p.m. alternately.
There is a third weekly mail leaving Aberdeen on Wednesday evenings, and returning from Shetland on
days at 6 and 10 p.m. alternately, during the summer months from May to September.
MAILS FOR LEWIS.
'.'.. Mails to and from the Island of Lewis are conveyed between Ullapool and Stornoway five days a
; jsk from 1st April to 30th June, six days a week from 1st July to 30th September, and three days
" ( r eek during the remainder of the year. The excepted days in Summer are Sunday and Tuesday. In
titer the steamer leaves Stornoway on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, arriving at Ullapool
;ime for despatch of the South mail, and leaves Ullapool for Stornoway on the same mornings at 10.30.

It must be understood that the hours for closing the Letter Box are liable to alteration in the course
the current year, and, therefore, the Tables exhibited on the board at the Post Office or the Local Post
ice Guide ought to be occasionally consulted.

JVhen in the subjoined list one place only is mentioned, it is a Head Office, or what is termed a Railway
)-Office — that is, a Sub-Office which receives its correspondence direct from a Travelling Post Office
;ead of through a Post Town ; and when two are mentioned, the^rsil is a Sub-Office, and the second is
Head Office, to which the first is subordinate. It sometimes happens that there is a Money Order Office
rer the Sub-Office than is the Head Office; in these. cases such Money Order Office is added as a third
ae, for the information of any persons who may wish to remit money to the neighbourhood. All Head
ces are Money Order Offices, but all Sub-Offices are not.
