The objects of the society are the discussion of
legal and cognate speculative subjects, and the consi-
deration of questions of juridical interest. Admis-
sion to it is restricted to members of the legal profession
and law students, and its meetings are held every
Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock, from November to
April, in the Faculty buildings, St. George's place.

The museum contains an extensive and splendid
collection of specimens in Natm-al History, Antiqui -
ties, and Curiosities. It is open free to all students
attending the University ; and to the public, at a
low charge, every Wednesday and Saturday from 12
noon till 2 p.m.
THE GLASGOW HIGH SCHOOL CLUB.
The objects of the club are generally to promote
the interests of the High School, especially by the
establishment of prizes in the shape of scholarships.
All who have attended the Glasgow Grammar School,
or the High School of Glasgow, are eligible as mem-
bers upon payment of 21s. There is no annual

The session commences on Monday, the 1st of
September, 1884. The course of study comprises
practical instruction in plain and figured weaving,
from the simple to the complex process. Instruction
will be given in making working plans and drafts
for the use of mounters, weavers, enterers, harness
tyers, and designers. Various methods of experiment-
ing with hand looms will be taught, and facilities will
be provided to enable students to acquire a thorough
knowledge of power looms. Hand looms and power
looms will be set apart for the purpose of being taken
down and put up again by the students into working
order. Pattern sketching, and drawing designs upon
lined paper, preparatory to their production in the
loom, will form an important part of the instruction.
The analysis of woven fabrics will be taught, the
method of ascertaining the exact cost of goods, the
size of yarns, and generally all matters bearing upon
the art of weaving.

initiatory, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon ; advanced, from
12 noon to 2 p.m. Evening classes, initiatory, Mon-
days and Thursdays, from 7 to 9 p.m. ; advanced,
Tuesdays and Fridays, from 7 to 9 p.m.
