SCOTTISH WIDOWS' FUND
LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETT,
Besides being conducted upon purely Mutual principles, offers
advantages unequalled by those of any other Life Assurance
Institution.

A Membership of over Twenty-seven Thousand persons, including very many ol
the most able men of business in the country, all interested in the success of the
Society.
An Accumulated Assurance Fund of nearly

being the largest Life Assurance Fund in the Kingdom.
MAGNITUDE OF OPERATIONS.
The total Sum Assured by the Society since its foundation in 1815, including the
additions made from the Profits, exceeds
£45,000,000,
of which amount there has been paid in claims over
£12,750,000.
The Sum Assured under the Policies of present Members exceeds
£25,000,000,
Avhich includes over Four Millions of Additions from Profit.
PROFITABLE CHARACTER OF BUSINESS.
During the Seven years ended December, 1880, the amount of Profit or Bonus
Additions paid with claims averaged £43 for every £100 originally assured. In
many cases the sum paid Avas more than double the original assurance, in some nearly
three times. The valuation lately completed showed a surplus of over
£1,250,000.
