ceptor of Hntcheson's Hospital are, ex officiis, trustees
on all the Turnpike Roads in the county of Renfrew,
â– with the exception of the road from Greenock to

Frovan Mill Road. — Tlie Lord Provost and Slagis-
ti'ates are, ex officiis, trustees on the road from the
Cumbernauld Road, by Provan Mill, to Townhead.

Glasgow and Carlisle Road. — The Lord Provost,
Magistrates, Dean of Guild, and Deacon- Convener
are, ex officiis, trustees on the road, and also on

Provost and Dean of Guild are, ex officiis, trustees
on the Lanarkshire parliamentary roads (as they are
termed), including Cartland Craigs and Stonehyres

for the election of Trustees and Representatives by
public and other Institutions and Trusts on behalf
of the House, will take place on the 7th November,

JUSTICE OF PEACE COURT.
Sits every Monday and Thursday at 11 a.m.
within the Justices' Hall, County Buildings, for
cases of crime and cases under the Revenue, Roads,
Weights and Measures, &c.. Laws; and every Tues-
day and Friday at 11 a.m. for the di'^posal of Small
Debt cases. Clerk of the peace, George Gray, 72

procurator fiscal, R. D. Douglas.
SMALL DEBT COURT OF THE JUSTICES.
This Court, on six d:iys' inducice, decides claims of
£5 and under, sits every Tuesday and Friday at 11
o'clock forenoon, in the Small Debt Court, Justices'
Hall, County Buildings, 117 Brunswick Street. Two
Justices are the Judges. Summonses and warrants
are issued for the Lower Ward of Lanarkshire at the
Justice of Peace Clerk's Office, County Buildings,
entering by 117 Brunswick Street. George Gray,
clerk of the peace, 72 Hutcheson Street ; John
Morton Thresbie, depute-clerk.
SHERIFF SMALL DEBT COURT.
For the recovery of debts not exceeding £12, sits
every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, for Glas-
gow, on Tuesdays for Lanark and Airdrie, and Fri-
days for Hamilton, and a Circuit Court at Wishaw
every third Thursday. The defenders are cited before
this court on an inducise of six days; warrants to
arrest on the dependence are issued ; the decree may
be extracted and arrestments used upon it instantly;
and it may be enforced in all cases by poinding and
sale of the debtor's effects, and when above £8 6s. 8d.
by imprisonment, ten free days after its date, if granted
in presence, and ten days after a charge, if granted
in absence. The decrees may be enforced over the
whole county, and in case of the debtor removing to
a different county, the decree may be enforced
against him there, on being endorsed by the Sheriff-
