THE Thirty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the Association was held on 25th
February, 1880. The New Assurances for the year ending Christmas 1879
amounted to £432,935, and the New Premiums to £14,470. Claims by Death
had arisen under 144 Policies, effected on 100 lives, assuring £97,504, with Bonus
Additions amounting to £9678. The Net Income from Premiums and Interest
amounted to £177,008 5 — the Surplus on the year to £33,866; — the Invested
Funds to £1,073,390; — and the Subsisting Assurances to £4,358,335. Copies
of Eevenue Account and the Balance-Sheet may be had on application.
Nine-tenths (90 per cent.) of the Profits are divided among the Assured
every Five Years. Six Divisions of Profits have taken place since the establish-
ment of the Association in 1839— viz., in 1846, 1853, 1860, 1865, 1870, and 1875—
at each of which REVERSIONARY BONUS ADDITIONS, at rates never lower than
One Pound Ten Shillings Peir Cent. Pesr Annum,
have been made to all Participating Policies effected for the Whole Term of
Life. The Reversionary Bonus Additions made on these occasions have
amounted to £578,836.
BONUS YEAR, 1880.
The Seventh Quinquennial Investigation and Division of Profits will
take place at Christmas 1880. Policies effected before Christmas 1880, will share
in the Five Years' Profits then to be divided.
NON-FORFEITURE POLICIES at Moderate Rates of Premium payable for
a Limited Term of Years.
LIBERAL CONDITIONS in rerard to Foreign Residence and Travelling.
