GLASGOW FOUNDRY BOYS' RELIGIOUS
SOCIETY.
Instituted 1865.
The Society was instituted in 1865, and has for
its object the religious, educational, and social eleva-
tion of the boys and girls of Glasgow. Membership —
17,000 boys and girls, and 1800 voluntary workers
— there being no paid teachers or officials. Has 87
hranches in the city and suburbs.

GLASGOW WORKING MEN'S EVANGELISTIC
ASSOCIATION.
Mr. H. A. Long, director of missions.
This association was formed in 1869 to diffuse reli-
gious instruction among the working classes. The
Gospel is preached every Sabbath at 2 o'clock and
6.30 in the Hall at No. 36 Saltmarket, where also
during the week lectures are delivered on scriptural,
ecclesiastical, and scientific subjects. During the
summer months, the above meetings are held (weather
permitting) on Glasgow Green. Through the agency
of the association large quantities of literature, of a
spiritual and educational character, are distributed.
The association is not identified with any religious
body, being intended as an auxiliary to the Christian
church of every denomination.

tion; Female Missionaries on the "Missing Link"
system ; Sea Side Convalescent Home for the Poor ;

Subscriptions and donations in aid of the institution
will be thankfully received by the treasurer, secretary,

objects and operations of the society may be obtained
from the secretary, to whom all communications
relating to the business of the society should be ad-
dressed, at the office.
Applicants for admission are received at the Pro-
bationary Home, 17 Stirling Road. This Home ac-
commodates 50 inmates. The Society's reformatory
and industrial work is prosecuted at the Home, Loch-
burn, Mary hill, which gives accommodation to 130
inmates.

The objects of the Union are to encourage, unite,
and increase Sabbath Schools in the City of Glasgow
and Neighbourhood ; and to improve the methods of
conducting them, by circulating information, and
giving currency to useful suggestions.
