"Mr. J. Wallace, Surgeon-Dentist, 22 Dundas Street, Glasgow, has recently introduced the use of Nitrous
Oxide. Yesterday, per invitation, we were present when Mr. Wallace extracted two teeth from a lady patient.
The process, from beuinning to inhale the gas till the teeth were out, occupied only 1 minute 45 seoonds. The
lady recovered immediate consciousness, and on asking if only one tooth had been drawn, she was agreeably
surprised wh.n tn'd tll^^ hnth of her cutting ivories were gone. She described her sensation during the operation as
a pleasing confused dream."
