Example. — A person aged 30 may secure, by payment of ten Annual Premiums of £28 18s. 4c?.,
the sum of £500, payable at his death ; or should the Assured wish to discontinue the payment
of Premiums before the expiration of the term agreed upon, he may, after three annual pay-
ments, claim a free or paid-up Policy in lieu of the original one. The amount assured by such
paid-up Policy will be in proportion to the number of Premiums paid:— for instance, supposing
£500 to have been the amount originally assured, and that iive Annual Premiums out of a series
of ten have been paid, then a paid-up Policy for £250 (or five-tenths of a £500) would be granted.
