or upon any part thereof, are two-third parts of the aforesaid rates. The second stage extends from the
Old Ferry at Renfrew to the mouth of Dalmuir Burn ; and the rates exigible thereon are one-sixth part of
the aforesaid rates. The third stage extends from Dalmuir Burn to Newark Castle; and the rates exigible
thereon are one-sixth part of the aforesaid rates.
The Rates on all Goods carried by Vessels moored or placed in the portion of the Harbour of Glasgow,
between Glasgow Bridge and Hutchesontown Bridge, will, on and after 1st January, 1865, be reduced to
one-half the rates specified in the Trustees' published table of rates, as authorized to be levied on the same
description of goods respectively, when carried coastwise.
Goods on which the Reduction will be made, must, in terms of the Clyde Navigation (Glasgow Harbour
Tramways) Act, 1864, consist of coasting traffic, and be destined to, or brought from places on the River
or Frith of Clyde, within a straight line drawn due East and West, from the Cloch Lighthouse.
Regulations foe Timber Yakd.
The Trustees of the Clyde Navigation will allow Timber, Deals, Battens, Staves, and Latbwood to be
Landed and Stored on the ground at Stobcross Timber Yard, under the following regulations : —
I. All Timber to be Landed and Stacked in such manner as shall be directed by the Harbour Master.
II. No Deals, Battens, Staves, or Lath wood shall be allowed to remain in the South Yard (next the
jetties) for a period exceeding four weeks after the ship is discharged, except with the sanction of the
Harbour Master. Spars and square timber shall be at once taken to the North Yard.
III. After the expiry of the above four weeks, the timber will, if there is room, be allowed to remain in
the South Yard for seven days longer; but if not wholly removed by that time, what remains will, without
further notice, be removed at the risk and expense of the owner.
IV. No Rent will be charged for the first four weeks after the cargo is landed ; thereafter Rent to be
puid at the rate of one penny per ton per month, or part of a month, on oak, elm, ash, birch, fir, and pine ;
twopence per ton per month, or part of a month, on teak and crooked timber; threepence per ton per
month, or part of a month, on mahogany ; and sixpence per ton per month, or part of a month, on Brazil,
ebony, and other fancy woods (50 cubic feet of fir timber to be computed one ton; 40 cubic feet of hard-
wood, one ton ; 600 pieces of hogshead staves, one ton ; 150 pieces of standard pipe staves, one ton).
V. When timber is sold by the importer or agent on the ground, he shall, notwithstanding, continue
liable, not only for the rent previously due but also for the rent for one month after the date of the sale,
and shall only be relieved of liability thereafter upon giving to the Harbour Master, at the expiry of said
month, a list of the names of the purchasers whose timber shall not then have been removed.
VI. All rent and expenses to be paid before the timber is removed from the Yard.
VII. The Clyde Trustees undertake no responsibility for the safe custody of the timber, and it can only
be allowed to remain in the Yard at the risk of the owner.
Rates foe use of Oedinaey Cranes, and for Weighing, &c, in lieu of those
under Schedule I. to the Act, 1858.
Part 1. — Rates for use of Ordinary Cranes and Staiths.

Part II. — Rates for use of Weighing Machines.
For each Cart, Lorry, Spring Van, or other Carriage, when the load does not exceed One Ton,

Weighing duties to be paid by the Owners, Shippers, or Importers of Goods, if required by
the Collector or other Officer appointed by the Trustees for ascertaining the Rates, pro-
vided the weight specified by the Owner, Shipper, or Importer of the Goods be found
less than the real weight ; but if found eoual to, or greater than, the real weight, the
weighing duties are not to be exigible.
Weighing duties on Coals to be paid only when weighed on the application of the Owner
or Shipper.
Part III. — Rates for the use of Planks, Stages, and Rhones.
1. — For Planks or Stages for loading or discharging Vessels: —
For each Plank or Stage, per Week, ......
2. — For Rhones: For each Waggon of Coal loaded therewith,
One Shilling extra on each Cargo for removing the Rhone to and from the Vessel.
