Letters posted unpaid (wholly or in part) for
.Belgium, or Holland via Belgium, are charged 3d.
i each in addition to the ordinary postage ; those
sent to Holland via France are charged 8d. per i oz.,
:and those for the United States an additional post-
age of 5 cents each.
The same rates are chargeable in this country
upon letters posted unpaid wholly or in part from
the above places, except from Alexandria, Cairo,
land Suez, via Southampton, China, and Holland
via France, which are charged the prepaid rate
only, and from the United States, which are charged
an additional rate of 6d. each.
LETTERS FOE PASSENGERS ON BOARD
MALL PACKETS.
Letters for passengers on board the Cunard
packets for America touching at Queenstown, pro-
.vided they be addressed to the care of the officer in
charge of the mails on board of such packets, and
be registered, may be posted in any part of the
United Kingdom up to the time at which ordinary
registered letters for America by the same packets
are received.
Letters for passengers on board the Mediterranean
packets about to sail from Southampton with the
mails for India, Australia, China, Mauritius, etc.,
or on board the Canadian packets touching at Lon-
donderry, may, under similar conditions, be posted
up to the same time as ordinary registered letters
for India, Australia, etc., or for Canada.
The letters should be addressed thus : ' Mr.
■, on board the mail packet at Queenstown
[Londonderry or Southampton]. Care of the Officer
in charge of the mails.'
Letters directed to the care of the Packet Agent
at Suez, and despatched by the mail via Marseilles,
which follows the mail via Southampton, will pro-
bably reach passengers for India, etc., who havo
sailed in the packet from Southampton.
