SPECIAL BONUS NOTICE.
Proposals for Life Assurance lodged on or before the 14th May next will ob-
tain an Additional Pear's Bonus over those sent in afterwards.
In the Participation Branch, the Assured, while fully protected by the
subscribed>nd accumulated Capital, and exempted from all liability of part-
nership, actually receive larger Bonuses than if they formed a mutual Society,
and allocated amongst themselves their entire profit, without reserving any
guarantee fund. This arises from five-sixths of the profits of the Non-
participation Branch being divided amongst the Profit Policyholders, and a
considerable share of the expenses of management being borne by the Fire
Department.
No part of future profit has been anticipated, and notwithstanding that
the valuations have all along been made on the strictest principles of
Actuarial Science, increased Bonuses have been declared at each successive
investigation, forming a marked contrast with the experience- of many other
offices.

Almost every description of Property insured at rates as low as is con-
sistent with safety.
Claims adjusted with liberality, and settled with promptitude.
