As the Advantages and Appliances of Asphalte are not generally known, these may

Pavement, but its Iniperviousness to Damp and Vermin recommends it as the best sort
of Flooring for Dwelling- Houses, Cellars, Cotton Factories, Grain Mills, Granaries,
Cotton and other Stores, Barns, Stables, Dairies, &c. It has also been, of late, success-
fully introduced as a Roofing for Fire-Proof Mills, as a Covering for Underground
Vaults, and in the Formation of Liquid Manure Tanks, Cisterns, &c. &c. It is well
adapted to the formation of Gutters and Recesses, whatever their form or depth.
Builders and Contractors who prefer laying Asphalte themselves, may be supplied with
BITUMEN, of Best Quality, on liberal terms.
