Boots and Shoes, and by the same First-class Cutters and Workmen, but
very much Cheaper — because when dozens of Pairs are cut at once, there is a
great saving in the Leather, Linings, and Trimmings, and also in the time of
the Workmen — so that a superior Boot or Shoe can be sold ready-made Cheaper
than can possibly be made to order at the same price.
Besides the saving of money, there is the saving of time and trouble to the
Buyer, who, if he orders a pair of Boots or Shoes to be made for him, must call
to instruct, return to try on, and very often send or call back for alterations —
whereas, if he buys a ready-made pair of Boots or Shoes, he has only to try one
