LIEE DEPARTMENT.
TPHE Business of this Office embraces every mode of Life Assurance, and the Rates of
_1_ Premium will be found essentially moderate.
Lives Diseased, or having a tendency to disease, may be assured with this Office
on payment of a proportionate extra Premium, which the Office will reduce or cancel on
the restoration of the party to good health.
One-half only of the Annual Premium may be paid during the first five
years of Whole Life Policies, the other moiety of the Premium remaining a debt on the
Assurance.
To Policies effected in the Mutual Assurance Branch, a Bonus of Thirty-two per
Cent, on the Premiums which had then been paid was declared on 30th September,
1849, for the seven years preceding; and similar additions will be subsequently appor-
tioned to all Policies effected with a right to participation in Profits. A Policy becoming
a claim betwixt two periods of division, is entitled to share in profits according to the
preceding participation, and the number of years since elapsed.
