with their patronage since he commenced the ahove business, and hopes,
by prompt attention to orders, still to merit a continuance of their work.
To those who may not yet have given his Chains a trial, A.D. would
state that, having been engaged in Chain-making for Twenty Years, and
made many improvements during that period (some very recently, which
are giving general satisfaction), combined with the Chains being all made
by himself, and of the very best materials, he is enabled to oifer to them
a superior article, and requests a trial. These Chains have been in ex-
tensive use in Scotland, England, and Ireland ; and from all quarters
renewed orders have been received. A. D. begs farther to state, that all
Chains made by him are warranted accurate; and also to submit the fol-
lowing equitable and unprecedented list of prices, being a reduction of
nearly 1 5 per cent. : —

rings, and made of No. 7 mre, and brass swivels, with strong handles,

N. B. — Surveying Chains made wholly of No. 7 wire ai-e well adapted
for coarse heavy work; and A. D. would especially recommend his
Chains with FUed Joints, Long-Eyes, 300 Oval Rings, and Copper
Swivels, both Links and Rings made of No. 7 wire, not so apt to crank,
twist up, or stretch, as those made with unfiled joints and round rings,
being made in a superior style.
