Late Let'tees. — Letters, etc., may be posted
at G.P.O. and Branch Office, Leith, from 5
to 10 mimites after the hour of closing the
Box, except for the London Mails, when they
are taken at G.P.O. till 20 minutes, and
Leith Branch Office till 30 minutes ; and at
Lynedoch Place till 6.40 and 8.45 p.m., and
George sti'eet till 6.40 and 8.30 p.m., — on
being prepaid the too-late fee of ^d. , and
handed over the counter. Further, Letters
may be posted for the "West of England,
Ireland and American Mails at the Princes
Street Station, in the Box attached to the
Post Office Carriage, till 5.59 p.m. ; and for
London Mail till 6.59 p.m. ; and at Waverley
Station, in the Box attached to the Post
Office Carriage, by the 1.44 and 6.29 p.m.
South Mail Trains, and at Waverley Station
to Aberdeen, 6.29 a.m. Registered Letters
received up to the hour of closing the Box for
ordinary Letters — too-late fee 4d.
Posting of Newspapers, etc. — Newspapers
and Book Packets require to be posted at
G.P.O. 30 minutes earlier than the Bos closes
for ordinary Letters, but are taken up to the
time of the closing of the ' Letter ' Box, if
paid the too-late fee, as in the case of
Lettres.
Deliveries ix Edinburgh and Leith.
7.0 a.m. includes Mails from Abroad, England,
Ireland, and Scotland in general.
10.15 a.m. (this delivery is limited, but made
to the full extent at 11.40 a.m.) includes
Mails from England via East Coast, Ireland,
and Scotland in general.
11.40 a.m. includes Mails from the West of
Scotland, Perth, and Local.
2.30 p.m. includes Mails from London, Aberdeen,
Perth, Stirling, Glasgow, Hawick, and Local.
4.30 p.m. includes Mails from Loudon, N.E. of
England, Glasgow, Fife, and Local.
6.15 p.m. includes Mails from London, Man-
chester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Dundee, North,
and Local.
7.30 p.m. includes Mails from London, N.E. of
England, and Local.
Paid Letter Office open from 7 a.m. till 9 p.m.
