ON the SERIES METHOD, made Etymological and Grammatical as well as
Descriptive and Conversational, Foreign Languages (BOTH CLASSICAL
A.ND MODERN) are taught by nature to anyone as rationally and easily
IS mother tongues, without any book drudgery or any tiresome homework, and in
1 most interesting and altogether scientific way.
, Commercial Language is taught also on the Series Method.
GOUIN'S SERIES METHOD, introduced in England in 1892, has
Deen enjoying the public favour from the very first moment, as is testified by
lumerous Press Notices and Testimonials from prominent educational people,
md was called by Mr. Stead, the well-known Editor of The Review of Reviews
;May 1892), 'THE ROYAL ROAD TO LANGUAGES.'
Classes are carried on (both for Adults and Children) at the Edinburgh
School of Foreign Tongues in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch,
[talian, Latin, Russian, and Greek {both Modern and Ancient), Modern languages
aeing taught by Native Masters thoroughly competent and well trained on the
Jpystem.

Conversational and Literary Clubs are held at the School in French, German,
Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Modern Greek, and a Foreign Lending Library and
Reading- Room is attached to the School. French, German, Spanish, and Italian
Dailies and Periodicals.
Over 400 Students have been attending the Classes or Clubs of the School from October 1897 to May 1899.

PROVINCIAL CLASSES HELD IN CONNECTION WITH THE SCHOOL ARE FORMED ON APPLICATION.
Such classes were formed, from October 1896 to May 1898, at Galashiels,
Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Musselburgh, and Hadding^ton. Language
classes held in connection ■with the School have been conducted in
Glasgovsr, at the Christian Institute, since November 1897.
