This Asphalte is not affected by the heat of summer or frost of winter, having been extensively laid
in India and in Eussia. Footpaths formed with it are much pleasanter to the foot than stone, and
much cheaper. They have no joints. One laid in a busy thoroughfare in the city of Hanover nearly
thirty years ago is still quite good, and has had no repair.

Asphalt Flooring is highly recommended for Stables, Byres, Bams, Cattle Sheds, Granaries,
Cottars' Houses, and all kinds of Farm Buildings, on account of its being the most effective preventa-
tive tothe ascent and spread of Damp, its complete exclusion of Vermin, its neat and cleanly appear-
ance^ its durability and cheapness in comparison with other descriptions of flooring and pavement,
and its healthy and disinfectant properties. While it effects a great saving, by the exclusion of
rats and smaller vermin, owing to the close texture of the composition, without seam or joining, it
keeps the Grain in a sweet state, from the entire absence of damp or moisture ; and wherever the
Asphalt Flooring has been used, it has fully realized all the benefits held out by its adopticn.
