SCOTTISH PERMISSIVE BILL AND TEM-
PERANCE ASSOCIATION.
This association, formed in 1858, co-operates with
the United Kingdom Alliance, and seeks through the
united efforts of moral and social reformers, the sup-
pression of the liquor traffic by the votes of the
ratepayers.

The income last year was £1414. There are five
agents; and nearly 1000 lectures are delivered
throughout the countrj' in the course of a year.
During the last session 24 members of Parliament
for Scotland voted in favour of the Permissive Bill,
while only 10 voted against it ; showing a clear
majority of 10 iu its favour. A stronger proof of
the progress of the association could not in the
opinion of the executive be given.

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings in the hall.
Public lectures on Monday and Saturday evenings,
and sermon on Lord's Daj', afternoon and evening,
and the usual open air meetings during summer on
Glasgow Green.
